  6. You might be thinking of the 1100. The 696 is 35% cheaper than the 848. (~9k versus ~14k).

  8. This guy is an IDIOT. “Bargain Basement”? It almost the same price as the 848.

  10. They won’t. It costs more to produce (more difficult to shape the metal) and has more chance of production faults than the plastic one.

  12. looks great but i hope they change back to metal tanks for the next model. then it would kick ass.

  18. Yep, a 250 is a gr8 bike and cheap to fix cause every body drops it once or twice..Ride safe mate.

  20. 250s are faster than most cars. Its not the bike which gets boring, its the rider lacking ability. A 250 is just fine unless you live close to the autobahn.

  22. Its a little cramped after long rides, but its not bad for short (<2 hrs) ones. If this is your first bike you’ll love it, if its not then get something else.

  24. hi,
Your husband doesn’t know what he says, hihi. Go for the Monster, ok, it’s not as cheap as the japanese but that’s with all good things in life. The handling is real good, Like I wrote before, this is my first bike and nobody believes it because I ride so well, and that’s not because I’m so good, but because the Monster is so damned good. I didn’t change anything yet, it’d still like it came from the factory. Get a testride and be lost for sure and ever.

  26. i love the white one. i’m also a woman rider and looking for some new wheels. my husband is trying to convince me to get a japanese, but since i saw the new little monster last week at a dealer, i can’t think of anyother bike i’d want. how is the handling? did you put on exhaust shields?

  30. You don’t have to hate me, just go to the store and try one you will be lost forever. But you have to know one important thing: you don’t fire up a Ducati, NO, get the key in and bring it to life, it’s like giving birth to a perfect creature. Yes, it’s true, I’m in love with my monster. You can take my man, maybe you may take my dog, but you will never get my Ducati Monster.

  32. oh hell yes.. dont even try.. you would look funny.. the 696 has one of the lowest seat heights out.. dont do it.. get the bigger ducati monster.. or wait for ducati to update the look of the bigger monsters and then buy it.. actually it depends mainly on the length of your legs.. or your inseam length..

  34. i hate you.. envious.. i want one so bad.. nothing can match the italiano style.. nothing.. japanese is technical precision and engineering.. italian is pure art..

  36. I’m a woman, I never did ride a real bike before, went to the shop bought a Monster 696+ and … now after 1000 km I can say “lucky me, I have my white Ducati Monster 696+ and I love him”

  40. très belle bécane…

  42. ive always been partial to the GSX-R 600.. however i havent ridden in a while.. and i think my next bike might be a black 696.. man the naked look is so amazing.. but it is a decent learners bike but still amazing for experienced riders i would think.. i just think anything over 6cc class is overkill.. im not trying to be pro racer.. just trying to blow some steam in the twisties.. seriously a GSX-R 1000 is so overkill.. the 600 class bikes i love..

  44. The plastic part on the back is called a cowl, it is simply aesthetic. It comes off if you want to carry a passenger.

  46. I just got mine yesterday and today I think I sat in my garage just looking at it for like 3 hours and then went out and did 300 miles, soooooo comfortable. The termi exhaust comes highly recommended, it makes the bike sound amazing (get it from a dealership and you get a better price.)

  48. It looks pretty small, i can see a pasengger foot rest but i dont see a pasenger seat, do u sit on the plastic part if ur a pasenger? sory im new to bikes.

  50. I started learning on a 250 myself and had difficulty doing the exercises. I asked my instructor to let me try out riding the 500 that they had. Problem solved. He thought it was the weirdest thing since I’m 5′3 and weigh 121 lbs that I had less trouble manouvering a heavier bike. I got my license in the “heavy bike” category about 6 months later. Good luck with getting your license. Just try it out and see.
